Carriacou and Sandy Island

Carriacou is a small island (l3 square miles) in the Grenadines, north of Grenada. The name, ‘Carriacou’, is said to mean, "Land of many reefs" in the language of the indigenous Caribs.
Carriacou is a larger yet an even less developed version of Bequia - a much laid back undeveloped piece of paradise encompassed by wonderful beaches and reef.

Sandy Island is a must on the journey to Carriacou. There is just something about being on a sandy spit surrounded by the prettiest green/blue pastel water filled with colourful fish. It's like an out of body experience. You divide your time between snorkeling and walking the length of the island in awe. It's one of those experiences that change you.
